Network Engineer

Employment type: Full-time
Work schedule: 5 days per week, 40 hours per week
Compensation: $110,000–$150,000 per year
Primary employment location: Albany, NY 12207
Work arrangement: 100% telecommute position

Duties

The Network Engineer will:

  • Design detailed specifications and schematic engineering drawings for customer applications, network enhancements, and modifications;

  • Develop network-related documentation and disaster recovery plans;

  • Develop or recommend network security measures; prepare technical solutions and recommendations;

  • Data analytics and capacity forecast models;

  • Assist in the execution of planned deployments and upgrades, support change management efforts within the edge networking group, and coordinate change management;

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with other employees, vendors, and business partners;

  • Participate in network technology upgrade or expansion projects and make recommendations on new and emerging technologies as part of the ongoing hardware refresh cycles. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Electronics and telecommunications/Computer Science /Computer Engineering; knowledge in TCP/IP, routing (BGP, OSPF), hands-on experience with Linux and/or Windows server environments.
